Equipping Leaders To Multiply

The Miracle of Imperfect Teams

Teams are made up of a wide variety of people. Some people are experienced while some are inexperienced. Some team members are confident, while others constantly struggle with insecurities. Some are highly equipped and others have had little to no training.

There’s something within us that longs for a perfect team, but deep down we all know there’s no such thing as a perfect team.

Every team has its issues. In the context of a group of people there will be hints of pride, selfishness, sensitivity and jealousy.

We’d like to believe there is such a thing as a perfect team, but a perfect team would have to be made up of perfect people.

While we may not be able to have a perfect team, we can have a highly functioning team. A highly productive team. A team that enjoys each other, respects each other and even loves each other. A team filled with individuals who, despite their faults and sins, manage to work together to achieve high level results.

That’s the miracle of great teams – not that they’re perfect, but that they accomplish great things together in spite of their imperfection.
