Recently I had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Warren Bird. Warren who has a great heart for working with innovative pastors and church leaders, is Director of Research for Leadership Network. He oversees many of Leadership Network’s research initiatives, intellectual capital development, and internal publications.
Warren has authored many publications for Leadership Network. He has also collaboratively authored a number of books—a total of 19 at present—which includes his latest book The Multi-Site Road Trip, which is collaboratively authored with Geoff Surratt and Greg Ligon. Love the idea of the church merger as a growing multi-site strategy. I have seen it work miraculously here at our campus. In the 5 years leading up to merger, attendance was declining, few baptisms, and no leadership culture. Since becoming a campus of Seacoast we have seen huge numbers of commitments or re-commitments, baptisms, and leaders birthed out of our community. We are now a healthy, vibrant life giving part of our community. I hope that this idea grows and we stop shutting the doors of declining churches.
