Words inspire, encourage and empower.  The words we use as leaders can make a world of difference in the energy level and performance of our team members.  Here are a few words effective leades use on a regular basis…

  • We
  • I’m sorry
  • Thank you
  • It’s your decision
  • Try it again
  • Great job
  • You can do it
  • We can do it
  • I trust you
  • Let me know what you need

Today’s Leadership Challenge: Post this list of words somewhere in your office this week and see how often you can use them with intentionality.

  2. thanks mac. another great phrase: “do you see any areas where I can grow as a leader to be more effective?” especially for senior leaders, this cultivates vulnerability, authenticity, and trust.

    Thanks; great words.
I have told my staff across the years (53) “My goal is to say ‘yes’ every time I can.” It has promoted connection between them and me and encouragement to come to me with any idea.
