“I lead because God put me in my current leadership position. I thank God for it every day, but hold my position loosely.” I haven’t been able to get this off of my mind and i’m not sure why. I think it is because i’ve never held anything loosely. When i hold on to something it is usually with great care and intentionality. I think the danger for me here is that it can quickly become something that ‘I do’ instead of something ‘He is doing’. There is alot of humility and strength in rembering you are where you are because God put you there. Good stuff Mac.

Great insights into a very real and present danger. Although our motives can never be totally pure, we need to examine our hearts and to be ever vigilant against all kinds of “self” issues that can pull us into the “dark side” of leadership.
