Oooh...I'm w/ Alan about the coffee cup & not a hammer. And I think this is definitely the most important aspect for starting off a leadership role, and since I've experienced your ability to become a friend to those you lead- I am a product of this philosophy.

Keep it up! And glad to see this blog rolling... even though it is slightly overdue!

What a way to kick off the 7 Components! Connecting relationally with a potential leader and then seeing them lead with their God-given strengths is so awesome to see, but you are so right; we can miss out on it if we are impatient and don't connect to them. Good stuff Mac!

Leadership is relationship! Mac, how many times have you said that?...lol. I know for me there is definitely a temptation to want to produce leaders as quickly as possible. However, I have found that even if you jump out of the blocks fast by producing a bunch of "microwave" leaders that almost surely you crash and burn! We must invest into leaders and build a relationship of trust and confidence. After all, that is what Jesus did!!!
