Equipping Leaders To Multiply

Doers vs Developers

Doer’s do. That is what they do.

But in most cases, they only do because no one has ever challenged them to lead differently.

As a result, week in and week out, these Doers do their job.

You are thankful they do. Without these Doers, you would have to spend time finding another Doer.

But allowing your staff who are in leadership positions to function as Doers is not maximizing their role.

Consider what it is costing you to let your Leaders be Doers.

  • They get done only what they can get done
  • They don’t have time to dream about the future vision
  • No one on their team feels a sense of ownership
  • If they are absent, things don’t get done

Now, think about the payoff of helping your Leaders become Developers.

  • More hands make a lighter load
  • Your Leader will get more time praying and thinking about the future
  • The team has more enthusiasm about the mission
  • You have a bench of potential successors

Every day you allow your Leaders to be Doers rather than Developers you put your organisations future at risk.
